Reading for the year
January 7
Proverbs 31:13“She seeketh
wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.”
There is no idleness in her life.
This woman is steady in her
work as Rachel was in Genesis 29:1-10, in caring for her father’s camels.
Hard work has been God’s way
from the beginning.
The virtuous woman does not waste
the precious time God has given her.
Don’t you think it's a problem
when busy every moment? And not a second to spare? That’s a good start, but
more than activity is needed.
Organization gives direction to
industriousness.
Thoughtful planning keeps us from “running in circles.” It
gives purpose to our industriousness.
[Illustration: a
two-year-old can “industriously” empty all the drawers in his room, but for
what purpose?]
She's a diligent, wise manager of her time as found in verses
15 & 24.
God bless you

I CHOOSE TO TRUST JESUS CHRIST AND HIS FINISHED PAYMENT FOR
MY SIN.
To trust Jesus Christ as your
Savior, pray a prayer similar to this one: “Lord, I know that I am a sinner. Please
forgive my sins, come into my life and be my Saviour. I am trusting You and You
alone as payment for my sins. Help me live for You from this day forward. In
Jesus’ name, Amen.”
