January 18, Devotional Daily...... CLOTHING THAT WILL PLEASE THE LORD

BASIC PRINCIPLES THAT I CAN USE IN SELECTING CLOTHING THAT WILL PLEASE THE LORD
MODESTY
I Timothy 2:9

Modest – not vain or boastful; unassuming; behaving, dressing, speaking, etc. in a way that is considered proper; decent; quiet and humble in appearance, style, etc.; not pretentious.

An uncovered knee tends to show parts of the thigh, or even undergarments, which is inappropriate.

Garments should be long enough and full enough to cover the contours of our body whether we are standing, sitting, stooping, or walking. Any slit should go no higher than an acceptable hem line.

Our clothing should not emphasize or draw attention to our physical bodies, but to the sweet Spirit of our Savior within us (I Peter 3:3-4).

God states in Scripture that He wants His people to be different from the world, and He brought judgment upon them when they refused to do so.
Leviticus 10:10, Ezekiel 22:26, Ezekiel 44:23.

One of the most obvious ways to differentiate ourselves from the world is in dress.

We don’t have to say a word. If we consistently maintain a lady-like appearance, people will notice that we are different. That difference, or separation, is not an end in and of itself: it gives us a platform from which we can share Christ with others.

Titus 2:3-5:Someone is watching you. Are you setting a good example?
