“BE OTHERS-ORIENTED.”
Proverbs 31:20 “She stretcheth
out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth
forth her hands to the needy.”
She is willing to stretch out her
hands to the poor (Deuteronomy 15:7-8).
She never becomes too busy that she cannot help supply the
needs of others.
She extends herself beyond what
comes easy”
She steps out of our her
comfort zone for the benefit of others.
She was definitely
“others-oriented.”
She did not hide from poverty
or the needs of others with an “I don’t want to get involved” attitude.
In this verse, she continues to
play the role of the need-meeter, but doesn’t stop with her family. [It is
important to note, however, that before she extends herself to meet the needs
of others, she has already seen to it that her own family’s needs are taken
care of.]
Commit to being mindful of the needs of those
around you, to extend yourself beyond your “comfort zone.”
Volunteer to serve in some way
those less fortunate than yourself; be a friend to someone going through a
difficult time in their life; reach out to a widow lady or shut-in who is
lonely; become involved in the visitation or bus ministry (if not full time,
help out when you can----extra help is always appreciated)
Kindly take a minute to pray for
NIGERIA.
