DON'T COMPARE YOUR SPOUSE WITH ANOTHER
God is preparing your husband.
Only God is fully aware of the
necessary ingredients needed to complete His plan.
Don’t tamper with His recipe.
Treat your husband with tender
loving care.
Make full use of opportunities
to truly be a helpmeet
Tips needed:
DO accept his preferences. If
your husband likes to have dinner on the table right when he comes home from
work, try to do that for him. If he likes the toilet paper roll to go over,
rather than under, try to accommodate him. If he enjoys having a cup of coffee
in the morning, try to have one ready for him to take with him when he leaves.
Allow him to enjoy his friends
and his interests away from the home without viewing these interests as “the
enemy.” When one spouse hates something that the other loves, a wall begins to
be constructed between the two.
DON’T correct him in front of
others (when he tells a story, when he tells a joke, his English, his
performance, his appearance). Let others see your confidence, not your
correction.
DON’T laugh at him. Your
roaring laughter, especially about jokes in which your husband is the punch
line, can be a manifestation of disrespect and ridicule.
DON’T accept your husband based
only on his performance. Unconditional love should never be questioned.
DON’T compare your husband with
other men. Do everything within your power to be content with the mate that God
gave you.
Complete your husband through prayer, praise, and acceptance.
Think about a different quality you are thankful for in your husband,
and let him know you appreciate that quality in him.
