WHY I WAS GIVEN BIRTH TO: The need to bear fruits
The felt of hunger was displayed in Matthew
21:18 as it is said that a hungry man is an angry man. Esau was very hungry on
that day and he sold his birthright------ hunger.
The only thing the Israelites could
complain about in the wilderness is hunger. They craved for meat and complained
bitterly-----hunger
It was hunger that made the two women ate
their children in those days at the time of the siege and famine in Samaria.
-------Hunger
What is HUNGER?
Hunger
is a feeling of discomfort or weakness caused by lack of food coupled with the
desire to eat. Jesus also was very hungry at this time (physical hunger), this
could mean a lot of things the world today.
The harvest of this world is ripe (spiritual
hunger). Blessed are those who thirst and hunger for righteousness, for they
shall be filled (Matthew 5:6)
There’s hunger in the world today, both physical
and spiritual hunger, but I will lay emphasis spiritual
hunger
What is spiritual hunger?
Spiritual
hunger is the rational appetite whereby the soul paints after that which it apprehends
most suitable and proportional to itself.
Whence is this hunger? Hunger is from the sense of want. He who is
spiritually hungry, has a real sense of his own indigenes that he wants
righteousness.
Spiritual
hunger makes us blessed. Hunger has it’s evidences in life. a dead man cannot
hunger. Therefore, hunger proceeds from life. The first thing a child does when
it is born is to hunger after the breast. So also, spiritual hunger follows upon
the new birth (1 Peter 2:2)
Men who are after more religious disputes
than practising it are not spiritually hungry. You may be an elder, a deacon or
a minister and yet not spiritually hungry. You may think that you are already
filled and no longer in need of any truth i.e. hypocrites.
You may always be the first to get to the
church at every service, yet not spiritually hungry.
At that moment, Jesus was hungry, many souls
are hungry today, and they are spiritually hungry. Jesus said that “the harvest
is ripe; the harvest of the world is ripe which is the basic need that you must
not be barren spiritually.
